Madrid es la Caña!

- Where to find the cheapest beers in Madrid...

"Mercado La Provenzal" (The Provençal Market)

This franchise first launched in Seville. They already have nine bars in Madrid and boast selling the cheapest beers in Spain. Only 40c for a small and 80c for a large beer makes it hard to beat these prices. They accompany drinks with canapés and they offer very cheap tapas. La Provenzal is revolutionizing Madrid with their 40c beers! Pros: very cheap beers, spirits €3.30, varied food. Cons: Crowded venues. Not the best food, but for that price you can't really demand much more.

"La Andaluza" Low Cost

This franchise has, so far, only one bar in the capital. Located near Metro Moncloa (calle Hilarion Eslava, 27), a popular place for university students. You can find small beers here for 45c and large beers for only €1. They also offer original gourmet tapas for €2. Pros: "Mahou" beer, great tapas, very original. Outdoor sun terrace in the summer. Cons: very small venue.

"Museo del Jamón" (Ham Museum)

In the now famous Museo del Jamón have also set prices for your beer to make the economic situation bearable to alcoholics. They used to offer €1 beers but lately, in several of their venues, they offer "Amstel" for 70c accompanied with a small "tapa". But that's not all, on Thursdays 200ml beers cost 40c, 330ml 70c and 500ml €1. They also have deals on beer jugs plus a snack at very affordable prices. Pros: varied and cheap food, variety of food and drink combos. They also do buckets of bottles. Cons: Their most interesting offers are only served at bar. 40c beers only served on Thursdays.

"Lizarrán"

Small beers 70c and doubles €1.20. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are usually promotion days with big beers for only €1. Accompany drinks with hot or cold reasonably priced snacks and "tapas". Be aware of their latest promotions as they often introduce new offers such as a free big beer on your birthday. Lizarrán emulates the style of the classic Basque taverns. Pros: original and tasty "tapas". Table service. They have many bars in Madrid and in good locations. Cons: Some "tapas" are not so cheap but are balanced by the price of beer.

"100 Montaditos" (100 canapés)

Small beers cost €1 and large beers €1.50, except on Wednesdays and Sundays when they're only €1.

Tacobell on Tuesdays there is "taco" with a beer for €1.

Who said Madrid was expensive?
Please recommend bars where small beers cost less than €1 and/or large beers cost less than €2 so we can incorporate them to our list!
Thanks,
