7 BEAUTY TIPS - Food Helps Your Tan -

In the summer our skin needs a lot of water, vitamins and antioxidants, not only to defend us against free radicals, which are multiplied by the sun, also to stay hydrated and healthy. What you eat plays a vital role!!

1. Take the Garden Home

Carrots, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, lettuce, peppers, parsley... They are all sources of beta carotene, an antioxidant substance (neutralizes free radicals) also accelerates the production of melanin, which is causes tanning. Beta carotene also promotes the synthesis of vitamin A, essential for good skin, bones and teeth.

2. Avoid White Bread, Pasta, Rice and Cereals

Whole Grain is better than white or refined because the shell has minerals and vitamin B, that moisturizes the skin from within.

3. Drink Lots and Lots of Water. All the Time

Summer skin needs hydration and not just as nourishing lotion. Drink lots of fluids and eat fruit with high water content such as watermelon, melon, pear or orange to counteract water loss and maintain an optimal level of hydration.

4. Take Fresh Fruit with You Everywhere You Go

Fruit contains a huge amount of water, so they are ideal to moisturize inside and out. They are also rich in vitamins and minerals. Natural juices are a great option for the lazy. Include fruits rich in vitamin C (orange, lemon, berries, papaya, kiwi) to help protect collagen and elastin fibers of the skin against damage caused by solar radiation.

5. Eat Fish

Most of the food from the sea are rich in Omega 3, a powerful tissue repairer that deeply moisturizes the skin and restores elasticity, which results in a much lasting tan. During the summer, experts recommend increasing consumption of oily fish: tuna, anchovies, mackerel, herring, salmon, turbot, swordfish and sea bass.

6. Season with Nuts

Pistachios, walnuts, sunflower seeds, cashews... They have lots of vitamin B which gives you an elastic skin. Add to salads or low fat yogurts. They provide our skin with essential nutrients and improve the taste of basic recipes.

7. Do Not Forget Proteins

Excellent for tissue regeneration and provide many nutrients. Red meat, fish and eggs contain essential amino acids.
