RAMSES FORCED TO CLOSE

MADRID MAYOR MAKES 80 PEOPLE JOBLESS

Our main concern now is the 140 families who depend on Ramses!

Ramses, an emblematic restaurant in Madrid, suffered today from the actions of Madrid City Council with its policy to "reclaim public spaces" and has forced them to close their terrace service. This imminent closure will cause the dismissal of more than half the workforce.

Located at “Plaza de la Independencia” aka “Puerta de Alcalá

Today at 1.30 pm numerous Police officers and operatives accompanied by delegates from the City Council began to drastically remove all the furniture from the renowned Madrid terrace, leaving more than 140 employees in absolute uncertainty.

Ramses declared their desire remains to fix this situation as soon as possible, always open to dialogue.

Launched in 2007, it quickly became one of the favourite places for locals and foreigners, both for its gastronomic quality, and its unique design by Philippe Starck. This measure will harm not only the hoteliers but the employees and citizens of Madrid.
